Family-owned since 1946.

Galpin began as one Ford store in the San Fernando Valley. Eight decades later it's still a family business — one that treats a first used car and a hand-built Aston Martin with the same care.

Timeline

Eight decades, one family.

  1. 1946

    Frank Galpin opens Galpin Motors, a Ford dealership in San Fernando.

  2. 1952

    Galpin's first custom car — the beginning of "Galpinized" — reaches the cover of Motor Trend.

  3. 1953

    Bert Boeckmann joins Galpin as a salesman.

  4. 1966

    Galpin moves to Roscoe Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley, home of the Horseless Carriage restaurant.

  5. 1968

    Bert Boeckmann becomes owner of Galpin Motors; the company remains family-owned.

  6. 2006

    Galpin Auto Sports opens, giving custom and performance work its own home.

  7. Today

    Twelve new-vehicle marques, pre-owned of every make, commercial, custom and service across Los Angeles.
